Find Your Spot

Took this quiz today Find Your Spot to see where I would best fit to move next. I was so mad Chicago didn't even make the list. Here are my top 5, but I think that it shows you at least your top 25. It must have been the climate questions that did Chicago in.

1- Portland, OR (funny, been there, done that - or at least close enough)
2- Cincinnati, OH (hell no, I hope I never have to move here. I can't even spell the damn city's name! and it's in Ohio)
3- Norfolk, VA (interesting one since this is where my grandparents are)
4- Seattle, WA (maybe....)
5- Carlisle, PA (where the f and why???)

So, all in all, I mostly disagreed with mine.

What did you guys come up with? or do you have a list of your own?

American TV

Oh how I miss thee... Not having American TV is the one thing that I just can't get over. I have recently found a few sites here in the UK that allows me to watch some shows, but I am missing out on all of the new seasons and most of what I have, I have seen before.

So let’s discuss this article I came across, The Best TV Shows of the 00’s:

  1. The Wire: never saw it
  2. The Sopranos: fair enough
  3. Arrested Development: such a shame it only lasted 3 seasons
  4. Freaks and Geeks: again, short lived - but awesome
  5. Mad Men: can't wait to see the new season, I got to see the first couple of episodes before leaving
  6. Breaking Bad: need to see it, heard it is awesome (loved him on MITM)
  7. The Office UK: yes, yes, yes
  8. Lost: at least for the first few seasons, unfortunately I let this die off last season
  9. Deadwood: didn't get around to this one
  10. The Shield: no interest
  11. The Office US: yes and yes. Kelly Kapoor. And Nard Dog.
  12. Battlestar Galactica: uh.... No
  13. 30 Rock: hells yes
  14. Futurama: most underrated cartoon out there, glad to see it on the list
  15. Veronica Mars: are you serious?
  16. Friday Night Lights: sorry Jenna - never got this one
  17. Firefly: nope
  18. How I Met Your Mother: why the hell is this all the way down at #18!!!!!!
  19. Big Love: yes, I enjoyed this on and off
  20. Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!: need to see this
  21. Curb Your Enthusiasm: yes, a bit dry though
  22. Six Feet Under: good
  23. Undeclared: damn - they should have made more seasons of this one too!
  24. Dexter: awesome, awesome, awesome
  25. Buffy the Vampire Slayer: no, never, not for me
  26. The Venture Bros.: who?
  27. Flight of the Conchords: Murray and Mel are amazing
  28. Eastbound & Down: good, but I need to give a few seasons
  29. Wonder Showzen: no clue
  30. The West Wing: NO.

Notable absences? I say Californication, Weeds, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Gossip Girl, Scrubs, Family Guy, Season 1 of Gray’s Anatomy and not sure if these fit on this list, but Project Runway and Top Chef

Anything else they are missing? or I am wrong about?

Baby Cuteness

Can I post about a baby even though I don't want any anytime soon in my life? I thought this was so cute and I want to copy this idea one day (far, far away) when I have one. It's cute.

Jimmy Choo for H & M

My guess is that all stores sold out so quickly and by the time I even make to an H & M they will be no more. Who wouldn't want a pair of these? I think I'm going to go research how much these are selling for. So cute.

A Tribute to Carly's Celeb BFF

Reason #47 That Ryan Gosling is the Hottest Man Alive - Dead Man's Bones Edition

I am completely obsessed with his band right now. Love that they used a children's choir and that all the songs are themed around "things that go bump in the night". I love the new album, I will try to share with YouSendIt, but in the meantime, for your listening enjoyment "My Body's a Zombie for You"

Winter Favorites

Hey Ladies,

As the leaves begin to fall here in Chicago, I need a little pick me up to remind me why I live in this ice box for 6 months with no leaves and grey skies. Please feel free to comment or create a new post with your own list...Carly, a break in humidity will do nothing to win our sympathies...
  • Starbucks Christmas Cups
  • Cinnamon simmering on the stove
  • Glade Holiday Favorites Candles
  • Winter hair (my hair LOVES the winter)
  • Staying in and watching movies all weekend with no guilt
  • Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Christmas tree decorating
  • Wrapping gifts, giving gets, getting gifts
  • X-mas lights that will inevitably remain up well through February
  • Scarves, scarves and more scarves
  • The first snow
  • X-mas music
  • Red, red wine
  • Holiday editions of your favorite shows ( The Office Gift Exchange remains my #1)
  • Cozy PJs and Slippers
  • Brisk walks out in the fresh air
  • Storefront holiday decorations
  • Home Alone marathons
  • Sax players playing holiday favorites
  • Guilt free, holiday time off from work
  • iPod playlists filled with Billie Holiday, Miles Davis and Coltrane

Alright, already feeling a smidge better about the cold months to come. By mid January though, all bets are off.
